I’ve been a customer for about a year, have turned all vehicle care over to Sun, (Springfield.) Dealer shop was vague when confirming work done, mis-serviced more than once by failing to follow work order instructions. Sun has always followed through with service requests accurately, given clear recommendations at time of write up, never has done work that was not neccessary, need verified by means of inspection and fluid sampling.
Technicians seem very well qualified, service desk advisors are quite clear regarding vehicle component conditions after inspection, prior to repair starting. Following dealer shop brake job and with vehicle exhibiting brake problems, Sun technician identified improper machining procedure which led to completely unsatisfactory brake function, and unserviceability of parts. Picked up truck next day, repaired perfectly, brakes didn’t work this well when brand new.
It’s obvious to me that Sun uses quality, long life components when replacing original parts, as opposed to shops that use the least expensive available. That’s enormously important to me, as I firmly believe in the old adage, “you get what you pay for.” Cheap only gets you out the door, what happens later becomes inappropriate gambling, better odds than that in Vegas.
During the time my truck has been in Sun’s care for routine service, all of the required major items have been serviced or replaced as needed. Brakes, all lubricants, wheel bearings, fuel injection system, etc. Truck now operates smoother than when new, and that’s accurate to say. I’ve referred to Sun two neighbors that experienced unsatisfactory dealer service, they both report being quite happy with service performed at Sun.
I’m elderly, so having a vehicle in the best shape possible is of prime importance to me, and a confident relationship with a quality service shop is equally important. I have no question that Sun will perform excellent, journeyman quality service for me, and I really do place a high value on having the confidence that I can depend on them, for all my service needs.
